Our Values
Since our founding, The Room Concept has been on a quest to find the most beautiful, rare and unique objects without losing the contemporary sense. Soulful pieces that can travel through time, tell stories and create memories, finding their way not only into people’s homes but also their hearts.
Through our journey, we are committed to environmental responsibility, the promotion of innovation and creativity, always respecting the traditions and safeguarding their cultural heritage. Advocating for fair pay wages by valuing and appreciating the work of our manufacturers and employees, seeking always to establish long lasting relationships and creating bonds that make us feel as a family or even a tribe.
While the brand’s collection is unique and eclectic, all the pieces are fundamentally centered around craftsmanship, and fair trade – qualities that ensure the brand’s vision.
We are now introducing a zero waste policy by picking leftover prints available in order to reduce textile waste and move forward to a more sustainable approach. Aiming to fully become a conscious and sustainable brand in a short time.
Our Textiles
All our textiles are 100% handmade using traditional blockprint techniques.
After designing a pattern and cutting it into a wooden block, the patterns are printed on the long meters of fabric. Blockprinting is a precise and slow work.
Our rugs
Our rugs are hand woven in a factory near Jaipur and visiting the village and the weavers is something we are always looking forward.
There is detailed care to every single rug before head to final destination.
The rugs are made from 100% cotton, wool and jute. Due to the handcrafted nature of these items, you may find slight variation in the appearance of each rug.
We accept costumized orders for any size and from our colour range. Please get in touch for more details.
Sustainability
The Room Concept is committed to make goods with the utmost respect for human beings and the environment, that is why we are constantly studying and learning along with the community. On our latest trip to India we had the honor to visit and learned a lot about sustainability and ethics with the Shaeli O.N.G, which allowed us to know where we are standing and where we want to be in the near future switching up to a complete sustainable brand.
We advocate employee protection schemes in order to support working communities of women and mens as well to protect the local limited production.
Water consumption and production waste in the field of design is one of our deepest worries and although it is impossible to eradicate this issue completely we are trying to reduce as much as we can, with the help and support of our team, friends, professionals, and artisans.
