ABOUT
The Room Concept was born from a journey — one shaped by travel, discovery, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and heritage.
At the beginning of her career, Catarina focused on creating home objects before naturally evolving into clothing design. Fascinated by the artisans she encountered along the way, she began developing pieces that reflect both tradition and contemporary expression — embracing the idea that the possibilities are endless.
Her work is deeply influenced by travel, not only as inspiration but as a way of working. Production takes place across different parts of the world: ceramics and glassware from Morocco, hand-embroidered textiles and garments from India, and collaborations with artisans from Mexico, Portugal, Uzbekistan, and beyond. Through these partnerships, The Room Concept contributes to preserving and celebrating time-honored techniques, ensuring richness, diversity, and authenticity in every collection.
Travel is the soul of The Room Concept.
Each piece is carefully sourced or created as a one-of-a-kind object — a reflection of places, people, and stories. From handpicked vintage textiles and hand block-printed fabrics found in India to handmade ceramics and glassware sourced from Moroccan souks, every item carries a narrative, often shaped by generations of craftsmanship.
The brand approaches curation as both an intuitive and thoughtful process. Every object is selected with careful consideration — where and how it is made, who makes it, and how it fits within a larger vision of living. Slight variations in colour, texture, or form are not imperfections, but marks of authenticity — what makes each piece truly unique.
With a background in interior design and a strong connection to textiles, Catarina brings a spatial and material sensitivity to the brand.
The Room Concept stands as an ode to craftsmanship and authenticity — where objects are more than decorative elements, and spaces become a reflection of stories collected along the way.
